So much of it is in the local news, you can't get away from it even if you wanted to.
And I gave in, and watched the video. I disagree with public opinion - I believe that some of the blame for the tasering of this man lies with himself. Again, why throw a chair, table, and computer? Why brandish a stapler after the police have approached you and raise it above your head as though to strike an officer?
Yes, tasering him more than once was a bad idea, but if you are in the line of duty, and a violent man is throwing things at the airport, then brandishes an object as though to strike, some force is required to take him down. People would have no issue with this man being tasered had he not have died.
There are inquiries being made, and this is all I am going to say on the subject. I believe that the silence with the Airport Authority and CBSA is not an admission of wrong-doing. There is nothing they could say or do at this point to make themselves the "good guys" since in the eyes of the public and media, they would only be "defending" themselves and making excuses. I am keeping an open-mind and will wait until the inquiry to see what is found.

I agree mostly but remember to monitor his breathing and check to see how the person you have detained is doing after you have tasered him. In fact maybe an ambulance should be called immediately after people are tasered... just a thought. wgbc
Also, after 1 taser shot. I think you can detain the suspect.
