What I don't like about the holidays

  • I am expected to give gifts. Sorry, but I'm not made of money and won't buy gifts for people I don't know very well.
  • Too much eating, although it's tasty.
  • When you go to potluck dinners, everyone brings an appetizer or dessert. What happened to the main courses?
  • Too many parties. Yes, it can be a bad thing. My cheeks hurt from smiling too much, and I'm running out of small talk!
  • BAD parties and gift exchanges. One co-worker, many years ago, received a hub-cap as a prank gift. She was visibly upset, since all the other gag gifts were "cute" and "funny" and usable, like a door-knob warmer, or 10 bags of snack-sized chips. She received a used hub-cap from a truck.
  • Mandatory parties. Everyone knows what those are like...
  • Expectation that you give xmas cards to everyone you know
  • When people come up to you and ask "do you celebrate Christmas" just because I'm ethnic. WTF? Why does it matter? It's a national holiday, and this country was founded by Christian ideology! "God keep our land" is in our national anthem, so stop being so PC!
  • Any holiday is too short!

No gifts for people you dont know well. Does that include Steve cuz' i hear you are really cheap?

Too much eating... sounds like my cruise.

Potluck Dinners.... glad I am white.

Too many parties.... damn you are internet addicted.

Running out of small talk. Being as quiet as you are I didnt even know you knew how to talk... long blogging rants however that's a different story.

Gift Exchanges are great. I always bring the Chia Pet and am glad to give it to the sucker who is on my list.

Hey did the hubcap spin?

As for xmas cards I will send an email to my friends. Much easier and cheaper.

BTW people dont ask you if you celebrate Xmas cuz' you are Asian.... it's because they know you are an Atheist.... hippocrate.

War God keeping our land... and his human followers destroying it.
War me writing this awesome rant in less than 10 minutes.
