Oh my grammatically bleeding ears and eyes!

Pet peeve:
I was just reading a restaurant review and someone described sushi as their favourite "food group." The problem? Sushi isn't a food group. It's a TYPE of food, but definitely is not a food group, just as pizza isn't a food group.

I'm probably being too picky about word choice, here, but I've been reading other blogs and reviews and get annoyed when I come across errors like this. And these errors aren't coming from ESL students, etc.. They are coming from fluent English speakers, which really really annoy me.

But alas, I don't think the rest of the world really cares, since perhaps I'm just being an English language snob...

I've got another pet peeve for you.... text speech. Seriously, spelling is going to go down the tubes because of that! ARGH!!!

If sushi means Asian Women than it is my favourite food group. haha

As an English major you are being too anal about the language here. I mean at least the language wasnt some strange internet/text bullshit code. TTYL WGBC
