Tweak

Freakazoid me is a little more freaky this week. I am drinking one coffee a day, which probably isn't good for me. My teeth aren't as pearly white as they used to be, and I'm becoming dependent on a drug - yes, legal - but still it's dependency.

In any case, why does this make me a freak?? Well, any dependency, especially drug-related, is not normal. At least for me, it's not normal. I don't like depending on drugs for anything. I don't take flu shots, and barely ever take cold medicine. The only drug I take normally is ibuprofen - which in the long term also has negative effects. But I can't help it - that's one of very few pharmaceuticals in which I have to accept.

I also have migraine pills - which I've never taken. If I ever get a "killer" migraine, though, I won't hesitate to take it. The pain would have to be a 9 or 10, though, on a scale of 10.

I like the idea of keeping my body clean of drugs - of naturally building up immunity. That's how Darwin intended it - survival of the fittest, and natural selection and all that.

In any case, I don't see myself waning off of coffee anytime soon. Maybe my motivation to getting off coffee will be monetary, and cosmetic (whiter teeth!). I spend $1.40 every weekday on coffee - that's $28 per month and $336 per year - that's an expensive habit...

In any case, I am lacking in sleep (not related to coffee), so maybe that is what's driving me to drink coffee daily. If I could sleep earlier... but then my routine of evening Sudoku and reading, etc will be broken up... and I just started getting back into reading after years of NOT reading... In any case, my left eye has been twitching all week. Maybe I can sleep it off on the weekend...
