Snow-capades

Picture this...

Peaceful serene snow... falling down like fluff from the sky, as you sit inside with a mug of hot chocolate.

Morning after... you try to get to work in one foot of snow. Buses are running late, skytrains are running slow, and everyone is trying to pack onto the train, pushing and shoving.

  • A loved one leaves the house early to catch a plane out of town, only to have the plane delayed 1/2 an hour, then 1 hour, then 2 hours, then 3 hours... then finally they decide to cancel...
  • Another loved one waits to get onto a skytrain and after seven trains (or one hour) pass by, she decides to call her hubby for a ride into downtown - toes really cold and so freezing she is almost in tears.
  • You hear on the radio that the campus that you work on is closed - then you check the website and it says it's open. You're confused - and in this confusion you arrive 1 hour late to work.
  • You have frost-bitten fingers from the morning's snow-clearing.
  • The poor snowman you built before (almost as tall as yourself) topples over the next morning in a sad array of snowman mortality.
  • A large tree branch cracks, and falls onto your mother's fence - bending it into minor lopsided-ness (but apparently only if you know where to look - but it's drama for those involved).
  • And at the end of the day, you hope your fingers will go back to normal soon.
But at least we don't have to boil water for 1 minute, any more... well, as long as there is no sudden rise in temperature - and thus making all that snow and ice melt in a torrent. Then... of course, boil water advisory will be back on...

So you describe New York, or Hong Kong or any for of subway system...what a complainer!

As for your day nice to see you put it in perspective. I mean at least the homeless are having a nice time with their snowball fights, as they have nothing better to do, but you!!!!... you have to go to work and wait for the skytrain/buses and then your snowman fell down. boo hoo cry me a fucking tundra. Obvisouly I am kidding with sarcasm but as for the "Family Fence"... got forbid it moved 1/32 of an inch. What are we gonna do? Does this mean our property value will go down? Ah..... all about whats important.
Mostly kidding lol datrash

yea, I was thinking of the homeless on the weekend, and felt really bad for them... Unfortunately there's not much that can be done except to open up more beds in the shelters...

And sadly, I had to go to work since the HC building was still open, even though classes were cancelled...
