Last weekend I went to the opening day of the PNE - Pacific National Exhibition. It was free, and a load of fun!
Sitting out in the sun, enjoying the Dal Richards Orchestra, being in the crowds. It was something different from the usual, to do. I saw the Super Dogs show - which I've never seen before. The dogs are soooo cute and amazing too. Super fast, super high-jumpers...
Oh well. I saw the 4H Horse Competition - a little strange for me but I'm amazed by the control that the riders had on the horses. I also saw the largest breed of horse ever! There were also antique cars, and of course the showcases.
One complaint - food at the PNE is expensive, and all the prices are fixed! Seriously, why do ALL of the food stands charge $3 for a can of pop?? No variation like $0.50 less?? You'd think that within the entire fair, there'd be some variation.
Overall it was a fun day - spending a super-sun-shiny day with my favourite guy, and enjoying the outdoors!

you expect to find bargain prices at a fair? you are so naive. I went on sunday with my mom and two of the new shows they had were the High Dive Act, which was kind of funny and mildly impressive.. and the second was pretty awesome as it involved magician Murray Hatfield doing simple slight of hand tricks along with body transfer tricks where he and his assistant changed places while one was trapped, for example in a box while chained. Pretty neat. Mind you I have never seen another magican live before.
Glad you liked the superdogs. I see it every year and even as a dog-fearer i always enjoy it. That was the best time I had at the PNE in at least 10 years. l8r datrash
