New Year starts off with a bang!

The race is on to do as many activities as time allows! Having said that, I once again, have dropped my class! This time, I dropped it with a lot more regret and disappointment than the last time. I actually truly truly wanted to take this class, but after some thought I decided it was best for my sanity, and my hair to drop the class. Yes, hair, because when I'm stressed out my hair does two things: turns white, and/or falls out.

I guess my time-management skills still need to be worked on, or maybe I'm too ambitious for my own good! I was having a conversation with SL about a week ago about taking the class, and still staying in Scouts, and tutoring, and working etc., and she asked, "what about SC?" (my bf). My reply? "I haven't thought about that yet." And now that I have, I'd prefer to maintain a social life, not just with my bf, but with my friends and family as well. My friends and social life are what keep me sane, and if I pushed it out of my life, well, I think I'd go postal or something.

In any case, I still have many activities to keep me occupied for the year. Like I said, there's still my tutoring on the weekends, Scout meetings, my 9 to 5 job, my hobbies, friends, etc..

And speaking of Scouts...
We will be having a Winter Camp mid-January. It'll probably be cold and wet, like all our previous winter camps. I'm hoping for some snow because that'll be a treat for the kids.

This year's camp theme is a Detective story. The kids must solve the case of a jewelry store heist. There will be 24 kids, and 8 leaders ALL playing a role in the story - either as innocent bystander, accomplice, or undercover agents. A lot of planning and writing still needs to be done.

Last night the other leaders and I put together the notes for the profiles - each person will receive a profile description of the character, so that they can all act the part. We've created a map of the nieghbourhood where the crime happened, and now have to put together the props and/or clues that'll help the kids to solve the case. This is the most elaborate camp any of us have planned, but if it's planned well, the kids will have a lot of fun with it!

Sounds like fun. Dropping the class I mean. Not the part about the kids.....I mean really why do you like kids so much? Is it because you like to control them and you are some kind of control freak? Seriously, isn't controlling Steve enough? Also, pay for something once in a while? haha kidding. you know who this is. l8r
