Yesterday I went on my staff retreat - took a paddle-boat ferry from New West Quay to Fort Langley. We couldn't have picked a better day to go, because the sun was out, and there was a nice breeze along the Fraser River. I even got sun-burned because I didn't want to leave the bow of the ship! We saw some seals, jumping salmon, and some deer along the way. I didn't even think there were deer along the edges of the Fraser River!
Anyway, I've never been to Fort Langley and I found it to be very quaint! I didn't go into the historical site (didn't have time) but I walked through the town and visited some antique stores. The highlight was stopping at a 50's diner with one of my co-workers. They have awesome desserts and burgers, and the decor is reminiscent of the 50's - vinyl cushioned booths, juke boxes, chromed stools... just very fun! It was a very nice day trip!
This weekend, I'm also trying to plan a trip to Kelowna. I have the urge to drive and go somewhere, and now that I have a car, it's so easy to do! Again, I love the open highway, and I love visiting different places! Driving the highway in BC is so relaxing and fun - there are so many trees and mountains, so many places to stop at whether it's a town, view-point, or park! I think this is what I need in order for me to make my summer feel "complete!"

Hiya. Not many comments, eh? Um, uh oh. Brain cramp, forgot what I was gonna say. Darn. Maybe later I'll have something more meaningful to comment on.
