What is typical night life in Vancouver?? We don't have pubs, like they do in Europe. In my opinion, clubs here are only average.
Typical night life for me is going out for tapas or dessert, or drinking bubble-tea. Bubble-tea is a good value because where else can you spend about $5 to $10, and sit and chat for 3 hours?
The German practicant has asked me to take him out to experience some Vancouver night life, but I'm sure he will be disappointed, as he is used to going to the bars with his chums. My friends chum around without the alcohol. We rarely club, except on someone's birthday. Bars are sleaze pits here, unless you go to the very few neighbourhood pubs and "European" style bars, like the Irish Heather (live music on Thursdays).
I will have to try to come up with some "night life" activities that might interest Wolfgang. Mostly, I think he would just want to hang out and meet some more Canadians. It's difficult to read him as he is more reserved than what I'm used to.

I have no suggestions...Gastown usually has stuff going on, or Robson.
