Need to catch up on some chores, and some sleep, with in-between baby-caring.
Also, I'd like to start taking care of myself again. I am still a good ways from being back to my pre-baby weight, and I need to start working out again, and eating properly. I haven't been doing any of my physio exercises for a while now, and my hip is starting to hurt again.
I was told that so long as I worked on my core muscles, my hip won't ache. Well... I guess achey hip = out of shape me.
Out of shape me, also means that I need to start giving in and buying "fatter" clothes. Admittedly, I've been wearing some of my maternity clothes to go out (jeans with elastics on them), instead of my regular jeans, because I can't seem to get them over my hips anymore. I'm finally admitting that I have to start taking care of myself, and giving into the idea that I won't have my pre-pregnancy shape any more. Sigh... The good thing about this, though, is that I have an excuse to buy more clothes! :)

Nuttier than Thou!
Something has taken a hold of me on the weekend.... maybe it was the good weather... maybe it was the word "free"... maybe it's because my mid-section is growing horizontally due to a lack of excercise... but lo and behold, I actually went to a Pilates class!! As I said, it was free, and it was an introductory class. The class was all right except for the fact that I was way in the back of the room and couldn't quite see the instructor too well. Pilates, it seems to me, is all about breathing, and creating forms or poses with your body, similar to Yoga, but more difficult. I'm sure that if I could get the hang of it, I'd feel the burn, and I'd appreciate it more. I'm actually glad I was in the back, because I kinda sucked at it hehe.
Other weekend happenings included chopping off my hair so that it's now about chin-length, if not a touch shorter (Oh my!), and it's bleached to a brown colour. Had I known that the majority of the hair treatment would've been mostly bleach, I may have had second thoughts. As the hair-stylist was putting the bleach into my hair, my eyes began to sting because of the fumes emanating from my head. I'm sure the bleach was also killing some much needed brain-cells, too. Hmm... I hope nothing else, other than the walls, starts talking to me... The last thing I need is to have my morning cup of coffee squeal "don't drink me!"
Huh? what?? Great.. my smoothie just started to burp at me.

2009 Bluesy Start
I slept through the ringing of the new year.
But many were more energetic and happy for 2009. I was just sleepy.
There is a new US President, talks of stimulus packages, and a new tax season! Oh fun!
I have been pessimistic and feeling down through the holidays and didn't feel like blogging much. I am still feeling somewhat the same... a little trepid about the future as I watch my savings drop bit by bit, and as I wonder what will still be affordable for us, middle class folks.
I think things will turn around, but patience and some optimism is required.
I am hoping to make self-improvements for myself... these aren't resolutions, but goals for this year and years to come. I feel that I have grown more realistic about life... or is it pessimistic? In any case, this feeling of reality hitting is making me a bit depressed and irritable.
I may eventually drop this blog and turn it into a creative project... we will see though. For now it will remain my sounding board.
