Everyone that I've talked to, who has a toddler, says that 2 year olds are well-behaved, and that the "Terrible Two's" title should actually be the "Terrible Threes". I think I agree.
My 2 year old will be turning 3 in a week. For the past few days she's been defying bedtime. As soon as we shut the door with the lights out, after storytime and lullabies, Little B hops out of bed, climbs onto the chair near the lightswitch, switches the light on, and commences to play and read her books, talking to herself, squealing and playing make-believe with her stuffies. Last night, bedtime was supposed to be 8pm. Instead it turned out to be 10pm. I hope we don't have another repeat tonight.
Not all Terrible Toddler things are so terrible though. Some are just plain funny and cute, only I have to suppress my giggles and take the kiddo seriously.
Example 1. If there is something Bethy doesn't want to do, she will cross her arms in disapproval and frown, and say "I don't want to!" (It's quite adorable). It's even more adorable when she does the exact same thing but decides to sit on the floor, to further express her disapproval or refusal.
The bedtime disobedience though is definitely not cute or funny. I think I have more Terrible Three's to experience, but hopefully not too many more?
