Lemonade

Things have been abnormal since I last posted, to say the least.

I've been laid off with all of my other co-workers (last day was in April, sometime).  And since then I've been figuring out my future.

We were actually given notice of our layoff back in Jaunary, so some of us had a few months notice, while others only had a few weeks notice.  My stay, with my unit, was actually extended by a few weeks, to help tie up loose ends.  It was extremely bitter-sweet... more bitter than sweet, I have to say.  But I do have to say that within those last several weeks, I learned a lot about my co-workers, and we all came together in this type of strange bonding, last-hurrah scenario.  There were sweet moments, moments of relief, and stressful moments.

So what have I been up to since then?  Well, like I said, trying to figure out my future.  Do I go back to school?  Look for another job?  What about my family, and family debts??  What about my responsibilities as a mom and wife, and responsible citizen?

Time has a way of adding pressure on some life decisions.  Expanding the family is one of those things where age is not forgiving.  So we've decided to expand the family.  And yes, folks!!  The family is expanding to one extra little one, due in December 2012!!  Yeehaaa!!!  No one else could be happier than us!!  The timing is a bit off, I admit.  It would be better if I was employed, but nobody is getting any younger, and we've wanted to expand the family for quite some time now.  Eventually, nature just said "OK, voila!"  And that was it!!  My short-term future will be Stay-at-home-Mom, and in the next year-and-a-half, I hope to be back in the job market, and hopefully the economy will be a bit better.  It will be tough with budgeting, but we can make it work.  And we will have the best memories.

Lemons certainly have turned into Lemonade for our family, and we couldn't be happier!
