Last weekend was a long weekend... Canada Day on Friday, and July 4th on Monday (great for both US and Canadians). Therefore, it was a long weekend of fun and celebrations (and food).
Little B had fun at the Canada Day celebrations in town at Lafarge Lake. She listened to music, practiced her walking, tasted different culinary food... She had bundles of fun and was all smiles. Mommy had even purchased some hair clips for Little B's over-growing hair (although she likes to pull them out of her hair and plays with them). We had contemplated taking her to see Fireworks as long as she had plenty of naps, but in the end, we decided that it wasn't worth the trouble of bringing an over-tired baby to see fireworks when she might not truly appreciate them. There will always be other years.
The following day after the Canada Day celebrations, we took her to Golden Spike Days, where she listened to people singing on the Main Stage. The main attraction that we wanted her to see was Charlotte Diamond singing children's songs. However we were an hour early, and sitting out in the hot hot sun so we decided to leave early, before Charlotte Diamond took the stage. Little B cooled down at the adjacent water park where she walked in puddles, and reluctantly played with spraying water coming from spouts on the ground. She was apprehensive at the water park, but it cooled her down which was the main goal. I'm sure she will LOVE the water park as she gets older, and more used to the activities (and children) there.
That weekend was full of family fun, visits, and eating as well.
