Why are coffee shops ideal places for meeting friends??
Perhaps it's the atmosphere, a cozy public place.
Perhaps it's the beverages and choice of meals.
Perhaps it's because you can spend less than $10 there and sit for over an hour.
Or, perhaps it's because if the meeting does not go well, it's easy to make a quick exit.
I love coffee shops, but my budget doesn't allow me to purchase a daily caffeinated beverage. Instead, I have my caffeinated beverages at home, home brewed, fresh from the pot.
In any case, a few days ago, I met with an old highschool friend whom I haven't seen since graduation in 1996!! She's the same sweet and friendly self. We used to have at least 5+ classes together (can't remember the exact number) because we were in the same Work-Experience program. I guess I never realized how much I missed her because our lives just got so busy, and after a certain time period of no contact with someone, you just forget or move on.
Well, the better news of catching up is that she lives about 10 to 15 minutes away from me, in the same city. We can easily meet up and re-aquaint ourselves. The funny thing too, is that both our husbands are working in the same industry, so hopefully they will get along too.
Looking to our next meeting, which hopefully will be soon.
I have zero friends living in this city (other than work-mates) so it'll be nice to meet up with someone without having to calculate long travel times. :)
