US Editorial
Seriously, I can't believe what a pretty face can do for an old-man's political career. There is so much buzz about her and with her. She gets more air-time than old-man McCain, these days. It's sad to think that her pretty face and gender may actually (and probably has) won over many votes already. US politics is actually turning my stomach these days. The reason the candidates get attention are for reasons other than their political plans. I don't know what to think, these days.
The Canadian Editorial
This is such a petty thing to say but... can't Harper do something different with his hair? It's always the same... and exactly in the same place. In any case, the polls say that Conservatives are ahead, which frankly I'm not surprised. I haven't seen much of the Liberal campaign and they seem to be lacking that oomph that is needed to catch the public's attention. I'm still an undecided voter at this point. And I probably will decide during the week of the actual election day... or something.
Economic Woes
Oh Woe is the US. And dire warnings and foretelling of the times for Canada, as 40% of our GDP goes to the US.
Hurry Away, Hurricane! (Double Whammy)
Many folks in the hurricane flood paths have been very lucky... their homes and lives relatively untouched. But so many others have been distressed and affected... people with no electricity for weeks. People losing all their possessions. I sincerely hope none of those folks affected, had any stocks. And no I'm not trying to be funny this time... I really do hope that those people affected DO have savings or something to fall back on... other than insurance money for repairs and lost possessions.
Geez, what a crap week.

actually palins luster is already going. the debt of wasilla as mayor. the bridge to nowhere where she kept the money. finally.
but yes popularity is what wins elections sadly. but again voters will vote for the leader so palin doesnt really matter and thats why harper will beat dion even though bob ray and michael ignatieff seem now like the liberal party leaders...this just shows how weak dion really is and this will in turn give harper the victory which i believe....if his lesser likes quit getting into scandals on lets say listeriosis... will get a majority govt. sadly that is scarry... but its also what the liberals need as dion is probably the worst leader they have pretty much ever had. meaning is the liberal green shift over now that the economy is a concern...the liberals change their message weakly...err...weekly and its over.
as for harpers hair i dont think Hurricane Ike would move it. mind you the rest of him is just as stiff. except for his....ah...nevermind.
im voting ndp as always cuz i believe in what they believe in...mostly. but with liberal ujjal dosanjh in my riding it really doesnt matter.
As for the US economy its affecting the whole world and its about bloddy time. Corportate greed and deregualation of the stock market was an awesome idea. seriously letting wall street police itself! wtf. yeah they are trustworthy. add that with the mortgage/bank crises and basically the actions of these people are criminal and its sad that the common people do the most suffering with their savings.
Finally the hurricane. well again global warming rearing its ugly head... more of them...more intense.. we are all to blame. corporations, government and the citizens themselves. seriously when an important election topic is "how do we lower gas prices?" is a questions rather than "how do we use a more effecient and more importantly cleaner technology so that we can get off of oil for good?" sadly as people our problems are short sighted and we like the quick fix rather than really doing something for the planet and future generations. wgbc is out and out at least 5 grand thanks to the us economy....thats ok though...good time to buy.
