Being part of the British Commonwealth has it's ups. It brings us extra long weekends.
Victoria Day long weekend is a statutory holiday in honour of Queen Victoria's Birthday, and the current reigning monarch's birthday (that would be Queen Elizabeth II - for those who's heads are in the sand).
This year, the long weekend is a rainy weekend (just like 2 years ago). So how did I celebrate our reigning monarch's birthday weekend? (it's really NOT her birthday, but we celebrate it in her honour, anyways...). I bought 2 pairs of shoes, and I'm tempted to buy a third. I also passed on a day-trip to Abbotsford for bbq and some shooting to pack and move some of my things into my mom's basement suite, which will soon be my own space. This is taking a long time, because I never realized how much junk I've collected over the years. Old textbooks, old school notes, clothes, computer disks, magazines, etc..
This is a productive weekend, but not very fun. Even shoe shopping was stressful, because I HAD to do it rather than WANTING to do it. Sigh. But it's a long weekend, so that means an extra day of being out of the office, although right now, i think I'd rather be at the office!

I thought about becoming an Athiest but there wasnt any holidays. haha As for the Long Weekend why are we the only country that celebrates VD Day. Even in England they dont... I think.
Nice to see you celebrated VD Day the same way Americans celebrate Memorial Day. Well at least you didnt buy a matress.
P.S. I've seen your stuff and trust me it's a shorter list of what's not junk than is.
