Governments and business, yeesh!

Huh?? A clinic in Yaletown hopes to charge a reservation fee for patients hoping to see a doctor. The fee can be paid each time, or there is an annual fee for an individual, or an annual fee for a family. Huh?? This is ridiculous. Clinics are not clubs where membership fees are required. And there is no extra hassle involved in scheduling a doctor - just write it on a calendar, or type it into the computer with a name and phone number of the paitent. Easy. What are the extra fees for? And aren't clinics publicly funded, so aren't we already paying for the services of the clinic through our taxes?? The fee structure reminds me of tourist places like art museums - you can pay an admission fee each time you go, or pay an annual membership for an individual, or pay an annual membership for a family. Like I said, clinics are publicly funded places, and aren't private clubs nor is it a private venture. The provincial government here is letting the rules of public health care slide, and are turning a blind eye.

This provincial government has been the worst for health care, EVER. Did we forget that they closed hospitals in the interior, and thus making travel time from some towns to the nearest hospital at least 1 hour - in GOOD weather?? What about snow and storms, that are typical of BC interior Fall and Winters? Did we forget that this government also closed some emergency rooms, or shortened the times of emergency rooms and/or reduced the number of doctors in emergency rooms? I am not impressed nor am I happy with this government. Get lost Gordo so someone else can have a chance! But before you do - STOP the clinics from charging any extra fees from patients!

So far, all I think this government cares about is the bottom line. That, and getting re-elected....

If you have money and you want to cure some type of illness/ailment why should you wait in line. Doesnt money talk in a capitalist society! This clinic should stay open and more of them should come so our children who cant afford them can go to the future HMO's of Canada. datrash

Sorry I gots more. So what if you live in the Interior? Nobody told you to live there. It's like the poor people in 3rd world countries... i mean really why dont they just move to where the food is.... ok that was a little tastless even for me.

I love this government cuz' they took all this money from health care cuts and threw it into the Olympics. War massive 1 month projects which will bankrupt the province. l8r datrash
