Sleeping with the Enemy

I hope that when Canada goes to the polls, people will not vote to sleep with the enemy, because Harper and his Conservatives are the enemy.

If you want someone who is willing to have their hands held and pulled along by Bush, then yes, vote for the Conservatives. Bush and Harper are very much alike. In their decision-making, the two of them will put their religion first, before the country and before considering human rights. Both Harper and Bush think VERY black and white, good and bad. There is no in-between, and most of the time, there is no logic.

• Gay rights?? NO. The bible says gay relationships are unnatural. Besides, you don't want to ruin the definition of marriage do you?? You don't want to poison the definition of traditional family, do you?? I mean, it's bad enough that through the Woman's Suffrage movement that women are now equal to men, that women can now work and earn their own wages. It's bad enough that there is no longer slavery and that everyone (well, almost everyone) is now equal. Harper is true to George Orwell's 1984, in that he believes that "all men are equal, but some men are more equal than others". Everyone is now, pretty much, more equal than gays and lesbians!
• Abortion rights?? No one should have the right to choose, not even the mothers who don't want to give birth to their rapist's child, not even the mothers who are put at serious health risks and even death, if they attempt to give birth to their child. Should baby and child die during child-birth, at least the woman's mate is still alive, and that's all that matters anyway.
• Iraq War? Hell yes! And I mean Hell. Under Conservative power our soldiers, people's fathers, brothers, sons, and friends will be sent to help the US occupy Iraq. They will be part of a war that is not recognized or deemed legal by the UN. Harper will allow our soldiers to commit war crimes against a country in which we have no dispute with.
• Fair deal in the softwood lumber case?? Harper will only try to appease the US by conceding to the demands of Bush - why tarnish the trading partnership over something so petty as softwood lumber?? Why bother fighting for the rights of Canadians, the primary industry of 3 provinces in Canada?? Why fight to protect our jobs, and our economy?? We don't want to upset the US. We don't want to develop a brain!

If you vote for Harper, you will be sleeping with the enemy. If you vote for Harper, our country will slowly lose some of it's autonomy to the US, we will lose the progress that we've made in the last 50 years.

This is NOT a plea to vote for the Liberals. Vote for anyone, as long as it's NOT the Conservatives!!
