Why do I have two blogs? Well, I guess, one is for my Friendster friends - something a little extra for them to read. The other is for my other friends... Hmmm, well, that actually makes NO sense, since both are public! All my friends (and strangers) can access both blogs, regardless if they are a Friendster member... Oh well. If you want to read my secondary blog, just check out my Links list. Or you can read it by logging into Friendster, if you are a member.
In any case, this one will remain my main blog - my Friendster blog will remain secondary.
Well, onto my day:
Mein Deutsch Kurs
I'm enjoying my German course, although I wish I was more comfortable speaking more, and I wish my vocabulary base was stronger and more extensive. We've also only learned present tense, and touched a teeny bit on perfect past tense. I hope we'll do more of that later. Right now though, everyone seems to be having trouble with the articles, since the articles are a little different when an object is involved in a sentence. I think in general, though, people are having trouble determining what an object is, in a sentence - good thing I'm an English major, and already know that one!
I noticed that when I'm in my course, I get more hungry than usual - I'm starving by the time I get out of class, and am now spending on average $10 on lunch a day - much more than my average $6 a day. (I know, I know, I should pack my lunch - but I've been too tired lately!) For two days in a row, now, I've been having yakisoba - mmmmm, yakisoba! (drool). I guess I've been using a lot of brain-power lately - that, and I haven't been able to snack like I used to. I snack a little in class, but generally I try to avoid it, since I think that distracts some of the other students.
Oh well, all in all, it's a good course. I have a lot of notes, and i've written down a lot of vocabulary, although I can't remember them very easily (if at all). I'll have to practice and study with emails to Wolfgang, in the future. For now, my class will have to do.
Weekend Recap
Also, for those who haven't heard yet, I got (pukey) drunk for the first time last Saturday. I was surprised because I only had one drink! (spiked Frapp - with double-shot of Baileys). It was super strong (at least to me) and I didn't have much food in my stomach. I was rather embarassed than anything else. I certainly won't be getting pukey drunk again, though. It's just plain gross.
Someone told me later that some people get bad reactions with alcohol and cream/dairy. I guess I'm one of those people, since normally I can have a drink or two without any problems. Or maybe they just made that up to make me feel a little better (and less embarassed). Oh well, one drink usually makes me a little tipsy anyway. I was just surprised that the drink hit me so hard and fast - that meant, though, that I was able to recover generally well - no hangover the next morning.
The rest of my weekend was great though - picnic on Sunday was fun and relaxing, and hanging out on Friday and watching Kung Fu Hustle was fun too! My weekends are now full though, because of friend's wedding activities and Scout activities. I think I'll be super busy this coming Fall...
