Yes, I admit, I drove while impaired. I was not drunk, nor was I high. I was very very tired and sleepy.
There is no difference between driving drunk and driving while sleepy. You still weave in and out of lanes, your vision isn't as clear and reactions are much slower. Most dangerous of all is when you are on the highway or when there are pedestrians on the road. I was driving in both situations. I was returning from Hope and it was dark and rainy, and I've been driving around all day.
Highway: going 80 km an hour with everyone whizzing by me at 100 km an hour. Vision impaired by rain and lack of street lights on the highway. Weaving in and out of the shoulder. Other people must've thought I was crazy. I'm glad I was not pulled over.
Downtown: didn't even see the pedestrian. I managed to stop just 1/2 a foot away from the pedestrian. It would've been really bad if one of my passengers didn't tell me to stop. At least someone was alert. Ironically, the pedestrian didn't even notice his near demise, either. He didn't even glance up in my direction, or yell at me or react at all. I'm glad I was not pulled over.
I was told by one of my passengers that maybe Red Bull is something that I should've brought along with me on my road trip. The amount of caffeine in Red Bull, though, would probably have me all strung out behind the wheel of the car. Also, not a good idea.
Despite my messy driving, the trip was fun though. We ended the night at Kobe's which perked me up quite a bit.
Next time, I will just have coffee and some energy food, like a granola bar in the car to help keep me awake. Having someone else in the car with a driver's license would help too.

That is why I hooked my car batteries to my car seat. When I feel tired, I would set it to shock me every 30 seconds. Also it is cheaper than Red Bull and there is no after taste..just after "marks" on your butt.
